Bryce Kachinski
Men's Basketball

#Bryce Kachinski# has been named the Warner University Athlete of the Week for games played January 16-22. The Clearwater, Fla. native went off for the No. 22 Royals this past week, scoring over twenty in each of Warner’s three games. In an overtime loss to The Sun Conference opponent Ave Maria University (Fla.) Kachinski went 7-for-8 from the line scoring 20 points. In the game he nearly managed a double-double with nine assists, adding three rebounds and two steals. The next game of the week saw the Royals matched up against Florida College out of Tampa, Fla. Kachinski was wet from behind the arc, draining 5-for-8, giving him 21 points. Also contributing with two rebounds, four assists, and one steal. In the final game of the week, the Royals welcomed the Eagles out of Embry Riddle Aeronautical University (Fla.) who were coming off of a huge upset at home over No. 1 Northwood University (Fla.). With another 25 points added to his weekly total, Kachinski blazed the visitors with six from behind the arc. He added four rebounds, seven assists, and one steal to his already impressive week.

Men's Track & Field

#Alex Xavier# of Naples, Fla. has been named the Warner University Player of the Week for games played January 16-22. Xavier is making his second consecutive appearance as player of the week. Last week he set a school and personal record, breaking the 55 meter hurdles in the Jimmy Carnes Invitational with a time of 7.86 seconds. At the Gator Invitational hosted by The University of Florida (NCAA DI), he again set school and personal marks, this meet besting his old time by .10 seconds. His time of 7.76 seconds was good enough for 13th place, against many NCAA DI programs. He wasn’t done there, he also competed in the 4X400 meter relay, where he posted a personal record split time of 52.1 seconds. The team posted a time of 3:24.56, which put them in fourth place overall.
