DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – The Sun Conference has announced its 2009-10 Academic All-Conference honorees and Warner University placed 47 student-athletes on their respective Academic All-Conference teams. The conference recognized student-athletes who represent all 12 The Sun Conference institutions.

FORT MYERS, Fla. – The #3 seeded Warner University Royals baseball team closed the door on their 2010 season with a 10-0 defeat at the hands of #1 seeded Embry-Riddle University on Monday afternoon on day two of The Sun Conference tournament at the City of Palms Park.  The Royals finish the season at .500 with a 26-26 record.

FORT MYERS, Fla. – The #3 seeded Warner University Royals baseball team dropped their opening game of the 2010 The Sun Conference tournament 14-6 to #4 Savannah College of Art & Design (Ga.) on Sunday night.  The Bees swarmed the Royals all night long scoring in at least two runs in four of the nine innings.  The loss opens the Royals’ tournament record at 0-1 and drops their overall record to 26-25.

FORT MYERS, Fla. – The #3 seeded Warner University Royals baseball team is preparing to open The Sun Conference tournament play tomorrow night in a 7 p.m. matchup against #4 seeded Savannah College of Art & Design (Ga.).  Live stats, audio and video will be available for tomorrow night’s game as well as all other games in the tournament.

FORT MYERS, Fla. – The Warner University Royals baseball team placed five players on the All-Conference team for The Sun Conference on Saturday night.  Representing the Royals on the second team were outfielders Hunter Reed and Justin Zanella, first baseman Dan Smith and pitcher Anthony Machado.  Cory Johnson was the Royals lone selection on the first team.  Smith and Johnson are repeat winners as they were both named All-Conference selections last year.

LAKE WALES, Fla. – The Warner University baseball will travel to Fort Myers, Fla., this weekend to take part in the 2010 The Sun Conference Tournament hosted by the City of Palms Park (Boston Redsox spring training facility).  The tournament will run Sunday May 9 – Wednesday May 12.  The Royals first game will be Sunday night at 7 p.m. against Savannah College of Art & Design (SCAD).

Athletes of the Week
Women's Track & Field
Pope earned her third consecutive The Sun Conference Field Athlete of the Year Award after helping the Royals finish second in The Sun Conference Track & Field Championships. She totaled 32 of the women's team's 175.5 points after winning the Shot Put, finishing second in the Javelin Throw and Discus Throw and third in the Hammer Throw.
Softball
In the pivotal game three of the conference series with #15 Savannah College of Art & Design, Helms made her first conference start and earned her first conference win after pitching a complete game gem where she held the Bees to only one run.
