DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – The Sun Conference has announced its 2009-10 Academic All-Conference honorees and Warner University placed 47 student-athletes on their respective Academic All-Conference teams. The conference recognized student-athletes who represent all 12 The Sun Conference institutions.

LAKE WALES, Fla. –Warner University softball coach Shawn Gary announced Thursday the hiring of Lindsay Littlejohn-Egli as an assistant coach. Littlejohn-Egli, one of the Polk County softball greats returns home to Polk County after recently graduating from the University of Florida with her Master’s in Education in May.

WINTER HAVEN, Fla. – The No. 1 seed and 24th nationally ranked Warner University Royals softball team split their games today in The Sun Conference Softball Tournament played at the Diamondplex in Winter Haven, Fla. The Royals were shutout 5-0 by No. 4 seed St. Thomas University in their postseason opener and bounced back to defeat cross-town rival Webber International University 1-0 (9 innings) in an extra innings thriller.

LAKE WALES, Fla. – For the third consecutive year, Warner Softball Head Coach Shawn Gary has earned The Sun Conference Coach of the Year honors announced at 2010 Sun Conference Tournament banquet at Warner University’s Rigel Center. The Royals also placed five players on the All-Conference Team: Kaitlyn Wilbanks, Danielle Fennimore, Kaitlyn Grimail, Franki Grimes and Lindsay Garchinski.

LAKE WALES, Fla. – Head coach Shawn Gary and the Lady Royals’ softball team is pleased to announce the signing of Tiffany Danielle Porter of Fort Meade High School.  Porter is an outfielder for the Miners but will make the transition into the infield for the Royals.

LAKE WALES, Fla. – For the third consecutive year, the no. 25 ranked Warner University softball team were crowned The Sun Conference regular season champions as they completed their conference series sweep of Edward Waters College 14-1 and 20-3 to extend their win streak to a season-high eight games. The Royals close out regular season play 28-12-1 (13-2) while the Tigers fall to 7-32 (0-15).

LAKE WALES, Fla. – The Warner University softball team took one step closer to earning their third consecutive regular season The Sun Conference Championship after cruising past Edward Waters College 16-2 (5 innings). The Royals extend their win streak to six games and improve their overall to 26-12-1 (11-2) while the Tigers drop to 7-30 (0-13).

Softball
In the pivotal game three of the conference series with #15 Savannah College of Art & Design, Helms made her first conference start and earned her first conference win after pitching a complete game gem where she held the Bees to only one run.
Women's Track & Field
Pope earned her third consecutive The Sun Conference Field Athlete of the Year Award after helping the Royals finish second in The Sun Conference Track & Field Championships. She totaled 32 of the women's team's 175.5 points after winning the Shot Put, finishing second in the Javelin Throw and Discus Throw and third in the Hammer Throw.
