LAKE WALES, Fla. - Seniors Kristen Clark, ML Gukich and Jen Steadham were honored at halftime during tonight's men's basketball conference game against Edward Waters College. 

Clark a native of Bradenton, Fla. majors in Elementary Education and transferred to Warner Southern after attending Manatee Community College.  Gukich, a native of Lake Wales, Fla. and a Business Management major has been an All-American cheerleader and is the current captain of the squad.  Steadham is a native of Brandon, Fla. the Exercise Science major also plays on the Warner Southern Softball team doubling as an outfielder and second baseman.

Athletes of the Week
Ethan  Lovell
Baseball

Ethan Lovell has been named the Warner University Athlete of the Week for games played Jan. 23-29.  Lovell helped the Royals baseball squad to a season opening split at Webber International University on Saturday (Jan. 28).  The Royals dropped the first game of the doubleheader 6-2 but rallied to take the second game 5-2.  Lovell got his senior season off on the right foot, batting 4-for-7 (.571) in both games.  The Lithia, Fla. native had a double and a triple while also scoring three runs.  Starting in centerfield for the Royals, Lovell recorded five put-outs as well.

Mark St. Fort
Men's Basketball

Mark St. Fort has been named the Warner University Athlete of the Week for games played Jan. 23-29.  St. Fort helped the No. 23 ranked men’s basketball team to a 1-1 week in The Sun Conference play.  Against No. 2 Northwood University, St. Fort scored nine points with six rebounds in a tough 82-58 loss to the Seahawks.  Then on Saturday night, St. Fort had a monster game against Florida Memorial University.  The Royals overcame a 43-38 halftime deficit defeating the Lions 82-74.  St. Fort’s second half performance helped lift the Royals’ offense; the Wauchula, Fla. native tallied 25 points in the second half.  The junior finished the game with 29 points and 12 rebounds to record the double-double.
