Women's Volleyball inks Seven Rivers Prospect

LAKE WALES, Fla. – Women’s Volleyball head coach Dr. Kevin Crawford announced on Tuesday, Dec. 15, the signing of Gabrielle Perrone of Seven Rivers Christian High School.  Perrone will join the Royals next fall for the 2010 season.

Perrone, a 5’10 outside hitter, helped lead Seven Rivers to back-to-back District Championships and State Sweet 16 appearances in 2007 & 2008 along with an Elite eight appearance in 2006.  She was an All-County selection in 2008 and was recognized as the FHSAA Academic Team Champion for 2008.

She is also an accomplished student, holding a 4.14 grade point average while maintaining membership in the National Honor Society.

Ethan  Lovell
Baseball

Ethan Lovell has been named the Warner University Athlete of the Week for games played Jan. 23-29.  Lovell helped the Royals baseball squad to a season opening split at Webber International University on Saturday (Jan. 28).  The Royals dropped the first game of the doubleheader 6-2 but rallied to take the second game 5-2.  Lovell got his senior season off on the right foot, batting 4-for-7 (.571) in both games.  The Lithia, Fla. native had a double and a triple while also scoring three runs.  Starting in centerfield for the Royals, Lovell recorded five put-outs as well.

Mark St. Fort
Men's Basketball

Mark St. Fort has been named the Warner University Athlete of the Week for games played Jan. 23-29.  St. Fort helped the No. 23 ranked men’s basketball team to a 1-1 week in The Sun Conference play.  Against No. 2 Northwood University, St. Fort scored nine points with six rebounds in a tough 82-58 loss to the Seahawks.  Then on Saturday night, St. Fort had a monster game against Florida Memorial University.  The Royals overcame a 43-38 halftime deficit defeating the Lions 82-74.  St. Fort’s second half performance helped lift the Royals’ offense; the Wauchula, Fla. native tallied 25 points in the second half.  The junior finished the game with 29 points and 12 rebounds to record the double-double.
