Christina Howard Earns Conference Player of the Week
Christina Howard earned her first Player of the Week honor

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Christina Howard became the second Warner women’s basketball player to be named The Sun Conference Player of the Week after earning the honor on Jan. 25. The Daytona Beach sophomore averaged 11.5 points and eight rebounds to lead the Royals to a 2-0 week that helped Warner match their conference win total from last season.

Against Edward Waters, Howard totaled 12 points, seven boards and three blocks on 6-of-13 shooting from the field to help the Royals to a 72-62 win. The following day, the 6-4 center turned in and 11-point, nine-rebound performance to lead Warner to an 83-78 defeat of cross-town rival Webber International, marking Warner’s first win over the Warriors in five tries.

Ethan  Lovell
Baseball

Ethan Lovell has been named the Warner University Athlete of the Week for games played Jan. 23-29.  Lovell helped the Royals baseball squad to a season opening split at Webber International University on Saturday (Jan. 28).  The Royals dropped the first game of the doubleheader 6-2 but rallied to take the second game 5-2.  Lovell got his senior season off on the right foot, batting 4-for-7 (.571) in both games.  The Lithia, Fla. native had a double and a triple while also scoring three runs.  Starting in centerfield for the Royals, Lovell recorded five put-outs as well.

Mark St. Fort
Men's Basketball

Mark St. Fort has been named the Warner University Athlete of the Week for games played Jan. 23-29.  St. Fort helped the No. 23 ranked men’s basketball team to a 1-1 week in The Sun Conference play.  Against No. 2 Northwood University, St. Fort scored nine points with six rebounds in a tough 82-58 loss to the Seahawks.  Then on Saturday night, St. Fort had a monster game against Florida Memorial University.  The Royals overcame a 43-38 halftime deficit defeating the Lions 82-74.  St. Fort’s second half performance helped lift the Royals’ offense; the Wauchula, Fla. native tallied 25 points in the second half.  The junior finished the game with 29 points and 12 rebounds to record the double-double.
