Men's Soccer Signs Lake Region's Alex Lebeau

LAKE WALES, Fla. – The Warner University men’s soccer team is proud to announce the signing of Alex Lebeau, a Canadian native who played soccer at Polk County’s Lake Region High School. Lebeau recently signed his Letter of Intent to join the Warner soccer family. 

According to head coach Kurt Bienias, “Alex is someone we’re bringing in as an all-purpose player.  By that I mean I would feel confident putting his athleticism anywhere on the field.  Alex comes to us with a set of strong family values and has a high-achieving academic resume to go along with his solid soccer abilities,” closed Bienias. 

 While at Warner, Alex plans on majoring in Sport Management.  He is the son of Pierre and Celine Lebeau and has three sisters, Christelle, Jen, and Warner’s Valerie Lebeau.

Men's Basketball

Mark St. Fort has been named the Warner University Athlete of the Week for games played Jan. 23-29.  St. Fort helped the No. 23 ranked men’s basketball team to a 1-1 week in The Sun Conference play.  Against No. 2 Northwood University, St. Fort scored nine points with six rebounds in a tough 82-58 loss to the Seahawks.  Then on Saturday night, St. Fort had a monster game against Florida Memorial University.  The Royals overcame a 43-38 halftime deficit defeating the Lions 82-74.  St. Fort’s second half performance helped lift the Royals’ offense; the Wauchula, Fla. native tallied 25 points in the second half.  The junior finished the game with 29 points and 12 rebounds to record the double-double.

Ethan Lovell has been named the Warner University Athlete of the Week for games played Jan. 23-29.  Lovell helped the Royals baseball squad to a season opening split at Webber International University on Saturday (Jan. 28).  The Royals dropped the first game of the doubleheader 6-2 but rallied to take the second game 5-2.  Lovell got his senior season off on the right foot, batting 4-for-7 (.571) in both games.  The Lithia, Fla. native had a double and a triple while also scoring three runs.  Starting in centerfield for the Royals, Lovell recorded five put-outs as well.
