Lauren Cline Joins Warner Women's Volleyball Team

LAKE WALES, Fla. – Head Women’s Volleyball Coach Sergio Rios looks to bolster his defense with the recent signing of libero Lauren Cline of Lake Sumter Community College.

Cline, an Orlando, Fla. native was a two-time All-Mid Florida Conference libero during her time at Lake Sumter. She left Lake Sumter as the all-time single games dig leader and a 3.7 digs per set average over her two-year career with the Lakers. Cline also helped put points on the board as she led the team in service aces per set her sophomore year. In her sophomore campaign, she helped Lake Sumter double their wins from her freshman season.

Prior to joining the Lakers, Cline played at Bishop Moore High School in Orlando, Fla. While at Bishop Moore she played on a State Final Four team her junior year and led them to a District Championship her senior year where she also led the team in digs.

Ethan  Lovell
Baseball

Ethan Lovell has been named the Warner University Athlete of the Week for games played Jan. 23-29.  Lovell helped the Royals baseball squad to a season opening split at Webber International University on Saturday (Jan. 28).  The Royals dropped the first game of the doubleheader 6-2 but rallied to take the second game 5-2.  Lovell got his senior season off on the right foot, batting 4-for-7 (.571) in both games.  The Lithia, Fla. native had a double and a triple while also scoring three runs.  Starting in centerfield for the Royals, Lovell recorded five put-outs as well.

Mark St. Fort
Men's Basketball

Mark St. Fort has been named the Warner University Athlete of the Week for games played Jan. 23-29.  St. Fort helped the No. 23 ranked men’s basketball team to a 1-1 week in The Sun Conference play.  Against No. 2 Northwood University, St. Fort scored nine points with six rebounds in a tough 82-58 loss to the Seahawks.  Then on Saturday night, St. Fort had a monster game against Florida Memorial University.  The Royals overcame a 43-38 halftime deficit defeating the Lions 82-74.  St. Fort’s second half performance helped lift the Royals’ offense; the Wauchula, Fla. native tallied 25 points in the second half.  The junior finished the game with 29 points and 12 rebounds to record the double-double.
