Women's Soccer Signs LeeAnne Fey

The Warner University women’s soccer team has added another piece to the Warner Soccer Family with the recent signing of LeeAnne Fey of Pine Ridge High School in Deltona, Fla.

Fey led the Panthers in scoring last season, scoring 11 goals to go along with three assists to earn her the team’s Most Valuable Player Award, the Coach’s Award and the Most Valuable Offensive Player Award. The forward also earned The News Journal All-Area Honorable Mention honors this season.

Fey has played soccer for 13 years, including playing on different club teams where she has helped her teams win two state cup championships and four region cups. She also excelled in the classroom, graduating with a 3.35 GPA.

Athletes of the Week
Mark St. Fort
Men's Basketball

Mark St. Fort has been named the Warner University Athlete of the Week for games played Jan. 23-29.  St. Fort helped the No. 23 ranked men’s basketball team to a 1-1 week in The Sun Conference play.  Against No. 2 Northwood University, St. Fort scored nine points with six rebounds in a tough 82-58 loss to the Seahawks.  Then on Saturday night, St. Fort had a monster game against Florida Memorial University.  The Royals overcame a 43-38 halftime deficit defeating the Lions 82-74.  St. Fort’s second half performance helped lift the Royals’ offense; the Wauchula, Fla. native tallied 25 points in the second half.  The junior finished the game with 29 points and 12 rebounds to record the double-double.

Ethan  Lovell
Baseball

Ethan Lovell has been named the Warner University Athlete of the Week for games played Jan. 23-29.  Lovell helped the Royals baseball squad to a season opening split at Webber International University on Saturday (Jan. 28).  The Royals dropped the first game of the doubleheader 6-2 but rallied to take the second game 5-2.  Lovell got his senior season off on the right foot, batting 4-for-7 (.571) in both games.  The Lithia, Fla. native had a double and a triple while also scoring three runs.  Starting in centerfield for the Royals, Lovell recorded five put-outs as well.
