Men's Volleyball Inks Rafael Ojeda

LAKE WALES, Fla. – The Warner University men’s volleyball team has announced the signing of setter Rafael Ojeda of Winter Springs High School.

Ojeda earned First Team All-Seminole Athletic Conference honors this season after leading Winter Springs to its second consecutive Seminole Athletic Conference Championship. From there he led the Bears to the District One Finals after defeating Seminole High School in a five-set thriller in the semifinals. Ojeda’s wonderful play this season also garnered him the Team Most Valuable Player Award and Orlando Sentinel Second Team All-Central Florida honors.

As a junior, Ojeda earned his first Seminole Athletic Conference Championship on his way to helping the Bears earn a berth to the FHSAA State Tournament after they claimed the District One Championship over Lake Mary High School. 

On the club level, Ojeda led his team to the 2009-10 18U Big South Championship.

Ethan  Lovell
Baseball

Ethan Lovell has been named the Warner University Athlete of the Week for games played Jan. 23-29.  Lovell helped the Royals baseball squad to a season opening split at Webber International University on Saturday (Jan. 28).  The Royals dropped the first game of the doubleheader 6-2 but rallied to take the second game 5-2.  Lovell got his senior season off on the right foot, batting 4-for-7 (.571) in both games.  The Lithia, Fla. native had a double and a triple while also scoring three runs.  Starting in centerfield for the Royals, Lovell recorded five put-outs as well.

Mark St. Fort
Men's Basketball

Mark St. Fort has been named the Warner University Athlete of the Week for games played Jan. 23-29.  St. Fort helped the No. 23 ranked men’s basketball team to a 1-1 week in The Sun Conference play.  Against No. 2 Northwood University, St. Fort scored nine points with six rebounds in a tough 82-58 loss to the Seahawks.  Then on Saturday night, St. Fort had a monster game against Florida Memorial University.  The Royals overcame a 43-38 halftime deficit defeating the Lions 82-74.  St. Fort’s second half performance helped lift the Royals’ offense; the Wauchula, Fla. native tallied 25 points in the second half.  The junior finished the game with 29 points and 12 rebounds to record the double-double.
