Royals Track & Field Continues to Bolster Rosters
New signees: Alex Xavier, Mackenson Timothee,Robinitia Weekley and Ricardo Martinez

The Warner University men and women track and field team added more to their roster with the recent signings of Alex Xavier and Mackenson Timothee of Golden Gate High School, and Robinitia Weekley and Ricardo Martinez of Clewiston High School.

While at Golden Gate Xavier competed in the 110M Hurdles and 300M Hurdles with a personal record of 41.15 seconds in the 300M Hurdles. Timothee, who also will compete for the Cross Country team competes in the 400M Dash and 800M Run with personal best times of 48.76 seconds and 2:01 respectively. Xavier and Timothee were members of the Golden Gate 4X400M relay team.

Weekley joins the Royals after competing in the Long Jump, 100M Dash, 200M Dash, 4X100M Relay Team and 4X400M Relay Team while at Clewiston; she is the daughter of Shirley Weekley.

Martinez joins the Royals after competing in the 200M Dash, 400M Dash 4X100M Relay Team and 4X400M Relay Team while at Clewiston; he is the son of Josephine Gonzalez.

Athletes of the Week
Mark St. Fort
Men's Basketball

Mark St. Fort has been named the Warner University Athlete of the Week for games played Jan. 23-29.  St. Fort helped the No. 23 ranked men’s basketball team to a 1-1 week in The Sun Conference play.  Against No. 2 Northwood University, St. Fort scored nine points with six rebounds in a tough 82-58 loss to the Seahawks.  Then on Saturday night, St. Fort had a monster game against Florida Memorial University.  The Royals overcame a 43-38 halftime deficit defeating the Lions 82-74.  St. Fort’s second half performance helped lift the Royals’ offense; the Wauchula, Fla. native tallied 25 points in the second half.  The junior finished the game with 29 points and 12 rebounds to record the double-double.

Ethan  Lovell
Baseball

Ethan Lovell has been named the Warner University Athlete of the Week for games played Jan. 23-29.  Lovell helped the Royals baseball squad to a season opening split at Webber International University on Saturday (Jan. 28).  The Royals dropped the first game of the doubleheader 6-2 but rallied to take the second game 5-2.  Lovell got his senior season off on the right foot, batting 4-for-7 (.571) in both games.  The Lithia, Fla. native had a double and a triple while also scoring three runs.  Starting in centerfield for the Royals, Lovell recorded five put-outs as well.
