LAKE WALES, Fla. – Warner University head women’s basketball coach Matt Murphy has announced the promotion of Kendall Heath to head assistant coach. Heath spent the 2009-10 season as a student assistant.
In addition to the core coaching responsibilities involved with the position, Kendall will assist in in-state recruiting, strength and conditioning, and film exchange. She will assist in helping student-athletes’ continued success in the classroom.
Heath, no stranger to the program, was a four-year player for the Royals and one of its all-time greatest. She is ranked fourth on the all-time scoring list and is one of only four players to surpass the 1000 career-points mark. The former guard is also third all-time in assists and three-pointers made and fifth all-time in steals. During her career, Heath earned several accolades including All-Conference honors; she was named a Daktronics NAIA-Scholar Athlete and earned a spot on the Sun Conference Academic All-Conference Team.
Along with assisting with coaching at Warner, Heath will be a physical education teacher at McKeel Elementary Academy in Lakeland, Fla.
The coaching staff is completed with Krystal Glass replacing Heath as student assistant, and longtime Warner coach Steve Jolley returning as a volunteer assistant.
